Collection: Winter Collection

There is a joke about the four seasons in Canada: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction. It misses the beauty of our Canadian winters, but there is a nugget of truth there!

Winter for most of Canada is blue, blue skies over fresh-fallen snow; icicles hanging from the roof and sparkling in the sun; the crunch of frozen snow underfoot; foggy breath and cold noses; cold hands cradling a cup of hot chocolate by the fire; and lots of fun outside: skiing, skating, hockey, tobogganing, snowmen and snowball fights. Winter here in the Rainforests of the West Coast is rain, umbrellas and squishy paths underfoot as the water table rises to feed the forests before another dry summer.

We Canadians have learned to love this time of year, whether shovelling snow so we can get out of our homes or dancing in the rain that falls on our gardens. It's all good...
